Textiles - All About Cloth: Shibori/Tie Dye/S

If your student loves color and textiles, this may be their new favorite class! Shibori cloth dyeing is a traditional Japanese hand-dyeing technique that uses an infinite number of ways to compress cloth to achieve dynamic, fascinating patterns. Tie dye is a method used to produce dyed patterns on cloth by tying parts of the cloth to shield it from dye. Students will get hands-on experience with these dyeing methods and then they will use their newly designed fabrics to hand sew items such as tote bags, pillows, and cloth napkins, and create fun wall hangings.
